My Humble Reflection

Wet Behind The Ears
The e-portfolio project was a new experience for me. Although I have made simple websites before, this was the first one I was creating for an official purpose. I have also not had an English Class that required me to collate all my work done during the class into a neat format or to reflect on my artistic process. Thankfully, the creation of this e-portfolio started in class, so I was able to get some direction from seeing what my classmates were doing.
Beauty
I believe that the more styles embedded in a piece of work, the better it is. I found it easy to put together colours that gave strong contrasts and enhanced visibility. I, however, struggled to find pictures and interactive elements that worked well with my papers, especially my Annotated Bibliography and Research Papers.
Let me spray some Beauty on you

Consistency
While I wanted my website to be beautiful, I had to ensure that it was not a colourful vomit. There had to be consistency and cohesiveness. I almost made my home page consist of three coloured fonts, six different writing fonts, three different background images, and a variety of design styles. Thankfully, I decided against that. I decided that each page needs to have an overall theme it keeps to.
Enhancement
If you go through this website carefully you will notice a mix of fonts. I aimed to ensure that if a reader was going through a paper and was getting bored, a change in font style would keep them hooked. Although the navigation bar informs my readers that each webpage contains a different paper, I tried to ensure each page had a different colour theme and background. This was to assure my readers that each paper was extremely different from one another and encourage them to continue perusing my site. The few random pictures and shapes within the papers were meant to make my readers curious about what image I decided each paragraph related to.
Communication
I was surprised to discover I could communicate effectively with you, my reader. At the start of this portfolio, I attempted to speak about myself in the third person but decided to talk directly to you. I hope you appreciated this style.
Future Directions
Creating this website has made me value e-portfolios more. It has also given me a new perspective on the usefulness of e-portfolios. I currently plan to create a comprehensive e-portfolio which I will update throughout my college years. The website would be a place for me to record memories, articulate achievements, and work on my creativity all at once.
